The 2024 new-jail announcement came from EPSO and concerns the Evangeline Parish jail project at the Ward 1 police-jury yard. It does not say Mamou City Jail moved, changed operators, altered its release entrance, or became part of the parish project. The announcement must not be used as evidence of any municipal Mamou construction or operational change.
It becomes relevant only when Mamou staff confirms a transfer to EPSO or when a person is actually held in parish custody. At that point, call the parish facility before pickup and confirm its current location and release entrance.
